Doulas and Daddies, Partners or Significant Others
Many partners worry that a doula will create a break in the intimacy that is labor and birth. Its a reasonable fear. After all you've probably envisioned yourself offering her the only support she needs. Labor can bring unexpected needs however. A doula gives you the opportunity to take a short break and return refreshed knowing that your wife or partner will not experience a break in support. A doula has specialized knowledge and is able to match the support techniques to the needs of the birthing woman. A doula means you don't have to remember evrything you learned in childbirth class ;)
